As Strike Back Project Dawn hurtles towards its explosive conclusion, we are very excited to announce that it will return to Sky 1 for a third season next year.We cant divulge any details about the cast as yet, but we can reveal that shooting of the 10-part series will begin in South Africa in early 2012.Strike Back has proved to be an incredibly successful brand for Sky1 HD, and our collaboration with HBO/Cinemax made the scale and ambition of the second season even more exciting, said Anne Mensah, Head of Drama at Sky. The third season is shaping up to be even stronger. We want it to be the most high-octane, action packed drama on British Television.The third series will once again be a co-production between Sky and CINEMAX/HBO and will be produced by Left Bank Pictures. The series was commissioned by Anne Mensah and will be Executive Produced for Sky by Huw Kennair-Jones.We couldnt be more excited to be sending our Strike Back operatives back out into the field for round three, said Andy Harries, Executive Producer at Left Bank Picture. The co-production with Sky and HBO/Cinemax has brought an outstanding scale to Strike Back which is rarely attempted on British television. Its an honour to be partnering with them again for the third series.Strike Back Project Dawn is currently transmitting on Sky 1 HD on Sunday nights. It follows stealth British military unit Section 20 who join forces with a U.S Special Forces operative when a resourceful international terrorist group plots a major attack.Researched by the creators and aided by consultants, the explosive show is rooted in the field of counter terrorism, where their operatives covert efforts are never publicly acknowledged, their leads are few, their choices are difficult and their results often come at a steep cost.
